Paris City guide - by our founder

Hi I’m Lau @laubedard, founder and designer of Twenty Compass! Paris will always be one of my favorite cities. Every time I visit, I come back super inspired! In this guide, I’m sharing some of my favorite spots in the city and some styling tips to bring a touch of Parisian style to your looks.
My favorite croissants are from Mamiche. I usually grab one at their location on Rue du Château d’Eau, then walk a few minutes over to the Canal Saint-Martin to enjoy it by the water. If you’re more of a brunch person, I love Café Berry in Le Marais. Good coffee is never hard to find in Paris, but a few spots I keep going back to are Blondie, Café Kitsuné, and Recto Verso.

Reading a book at the Jardin des Tuileries, walking along the Seine, shopping in Le Marais, visiting one of the many museums (I love L’Orangerie and La Bourse de Commerce), or exploring Montmartre... there’s just so much to do in Paris. I don’t think I could ever get bored of this city.

Like most things French, less is more. The key is to keep it chic and minimal.
A vintage inspired pair of earrings, a simple necklace and a couple of timeless rings are all you need to channel that effortless parisian style we all love.
Système Solère (or honestly, any thrift shop in Le Marais) for unique vintage finds.
Officine Universelle Buly for a cute monogrammed souvenir.
L’Appartement Sézane for timeless Parisian style pieces.
This year, I was lucky enough to be there during the Surprise pop-up shop and I completely fell in love with this French brand!

Bianco, Café Charlot and Café de La Poste are my favorites for people watching while enjoying a little apéro.
Bouillon Julien or Bouillon République for a true french experience.
Vivant 2 for a romantic date night.
Chez Janou for their iconic chocolate mousse.
Clandestino or Pink Mama for amazing italian food.
